About Nowlan Law LLP

Since its founding in 1857, Nowlan Law LLP has been deeply rooted in the Janesville, Wisconsin community. John Winans, a 26-year-old attorney from New Jersey, established the firm after moving to Janesville. Winans went on to serve as the city’s mayor, a Wisconsin Assembly member, and a U.S. Congressman. In 1877, Winans partnered with Ogden Fethers, a former English Literature professor, and in 1883, they hired Malcolm Jeffris, a young local lawyer.

These three men laid the foundation for what has become Nowlan Law LLP. For over 150 years, the firm has provided legal counsel to generations of lawyers who have contributed significantly to Janesville’s development. Nowlan attorneys played pivotal roles in establishing major local businesses such as the Samson Tractor Company, later General Motors, and the Parker Pen Company. Their commitment to serving both their clients and their community remains at the heart of Nowlan’s mission today.

Hired Attorney Atty. Timothy Lindau

Tim Lindau is an excellent attorney and I would recommend him to anyone!!! I also worked with Dave Moore! He is great too!! I will only work with Tim Lindau and Dave Moore from Nowlan & Mouat law firm!!! They are the best!!!

Hired Law Firm

Spent two weeks waiting for a reply. After I called them they responded by using a BS excuse that they had a conflict of interest but could not tell me how and referred me to a number that only helps the person who is suing me. I called another attorney who checked for any conflict in less than 5 minutes and scheduled a free consultation at the very same time no waiting!
