Explains everything in terms I understand. Quick turnaround.
Melissa handed over confidential medical records to the opposing party "by accident", and failed to provide even a basic defense for a protection order, that should have been trivial to contest. During the hearing Melissa proclaimed she "just got the case" and I did not have time to read it. Melissa had several weeks to prepare and this was a trivial / short case.
Long story short (you can read my full review elsewhere)... My husband and I hired Melissa as defense for a protection order after my neighbor lied and said I threatened to kill her. Should have been an open and shut, easy to win case. But Melissa appeared to do nothing to prepare, going so far as failing to review the evidence submitted by opposing counsel (she missed the email with the evidence, she also missed emails from me even though she was expecting them). The court granted TWO extensions for her to prepare, and she still failed to do so. Overall, I would have to say Melissa's behavior was just shy of completely incompetent. She was extremely unprepared, didn't know how Pierce Co Courts work, dropped the ball repeatedly, and has ultimately ghosted us despite saying she would follow up with us. We have decided to move forward with other counsel, and I would not recommend Melissa to anyone under any circumstances based purely upon her performance (or lack thereof).
