Based on his previous glowing reviews, something must have happened to Brandon McMurtray after 2020. I hired Brandon for a high conflict custody case. I should have listened to my gut instincts when he almost immediately became next to impossible to reach or even receive an email response for several days at at time. Brandon never scheduled a trial meeting. Never looked at any of the exhibits and strategic questions I provided to be asked of witnesses. He was effective at times in his knowledge of the law but would become almost comically weeded in details that drained precious trial time. He had no strategy, he did not prepare notes or have questions at the ready. Subsequently, he missed filing deadlines, did not forward communications, would wait until 2 hours before a deadline to say he couldn’t perform a task. I am concerned that he may have a substance abuse issue based on his memory or recall of events that have a literal paper trail.
