About Wilson Dabler & Associates

Child Custody * Divorce * Family * Child Support * Wills.

Wilson Dabler & Associates is a law firm concentrating in family related cases. Although Susan Wilson is licensed in Illinois and Missouri, the firm primarily practices in the Illinois county of St. Clair. The firm staffs three full-time attorneys, three full-time paralegals and one full-time receptionist. The cases handled most frequently include divorce, child custody, support issues, domestic violence, modification of divorce and custody decrees, paternity, and grandparent rights and visitation. Additional areas of practice in which the attorneys and paralegals are experienced include misdemeanors, estates, wills, personal injury, and powers of attorney. These additional areas of practice naturally flow from the family-related areas and are often necessary to complete problems which arise during or after completion of the family matters.

Our attorneys possess high academic credentials, maintain strong community ties, are committed to the pursuit of excellence, communicate effectively, and demonstrate the strictest personal and professional ethics as well as the utmost concern for our clients. Attorney Wilson, who has more than 30 years experience in family law, is primarily a litigator spending the majority of her day in hearings. Appointments with new clients are usually scheduled prior to 9:00 a.m. and between the hours of 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. in order to accommodate the court schedule. Attorney Wilson is also a licensed and experienced mediator and arbitrator and a certified child representative. She has been mediating family-related issues since 1993. As an arbitrator for St. Clair County Arbitration programs, she arbitrates several cases each year acting as an arbitrator judge in personal injury and property damage cases.

The firm does not concentrate in either male or female clients but has had success in gaining custody for fathers on numerous occasions. The firm excels in catering to a wide range of emotionally-charged issues and helping clients cope while going through their crises as well as helping them develop skills to face "life after lawsuit."

The firm brings with it a wide range of past experience in that Susan Parnell Wilson taught high school English/French for 10 years prior to attending law school. Attorney Wilson's paralegals have formal training, as well as several years experience, in diverse areas including personal injury.

Divorce process was dragged out due to scheduling conflicts, etc. This increased the cost tremendously.

I hired a lawyer from this law Firm to go after Full custody of my children. The lawyer seemed to have the courts interest at heart instead of the clients. Very shady attorney. The attorney found a lot of ways to charge me money but refused to properly represent me because it went against St. Clair County. I feel horrible that I recommendthis attorney to another person. I really hope they had a better outcome than I did.

Ms. Parnell-Wilson seemed eager to take my case until after the retainer was paid. I ended up having to do my own legal research into Illinois divorce law and drafted my own divorce papers and emailed them to her office. They simply put it in legal terms with several typos and incorrect information on childrens names, ages ect...Every time they had to correct their own mistakes it costed me more money. In the end I did the work and paid her more than $5,000.00. She's a waste of money. :(

During my divorce my X started to sexually abuse my daughter. I had words with Susan's paralegal because she did not get a police documentation before trail date. Susan did not like me yelling at her paralegal so she settled my divorce in one day. It took 5 more years in court to get through the damaged she caused. Find a better lawyer that cares about clients, believe me it's not Susan Wilson. She known for pressuring clients and being a bully. Don't bother her with a difficult case.

Numerous errors were made that affected the timeliness and outcome in regard to decisions that adversely affected my family. Documents were not reviewed correctly and sufficiently. The staff is inconsiderate, condescending, and smug. I hope this helps those reading this.

Hired Law Firm

The Wilson Law office provided very poor legal counsel, was non-responsive to repeated questions and inquiries, charged twice as much as fairly straightforward divorce should cost, and took much, much too long to complete tasks (a very simple QDRO took nearly a year to complete). Not recommended.
