Hayden & Hart, PLLC is a law firm with an office in Beckley, WV. At this office location, there is 1 lawyer practicing adoption law, appellate practice, asset protection and 80 other areas of law.
Gerald is very personable. Divorces are 'flat fee' in WV, so customer service when it comes to returning phone calls or answering questions was minimal at best. I would describe him as knowledgeable and compassionate, but very busy.
Communication was poor on lawyers part.Canceled important court hearing dates with only a few hour notice,costing me any chance of ever having court ordered contact/custody/visitation with minor child at time of canceled hearing.No rescheduling of court date was ever asked for by him at time of cancelation. Never went over final divorce paperwork,but made me sign the final decree even though I didn't understand a lot of what was in it.Subsequent follow up calls after the divorce were unanswered.
DO NOT HIRE HAYDEN&HART! I give them one star because they were good at one thing, taking my money. They are non-responsive, no reply emails, no return phone calls, except once, Gerald called and he was so rude and uncaring, his words to me were "Your done here, you got nothing!" On my last court date neither showed, Gerald went on vacation, so the judge called Hart to come to court. Hart showed up mad, and he told me he wasn't familiar with my case. He had the documents concerning my case. He wasn't familiar because he didn't care about my case. I felt like my husband had two lawyers, mine and his. Beware if you are a woman! Both lawyers are going through divorces of their own, and their ability to represent their clients is a conflict of interest in my opinion. I must have reminded them of their soon to be ex-wives. The person who gave the 5 star review, must have been their mothers. The office staff is just as bad, rude, no call backs, not helpful at all!
