Prior to forming McKay Williamson Lutgring & Cohran, LLC Mr. Williamson was an insurance defense litigator with the Baton Rouge law firm of Hoffman Sutterfield, P.L.C., where he concentrated in the areas of complex commercial litigation, medical malpractice, automobile casualty litigation, employment law, subrogation, and workers' compensation litigation.
Although Mr. Williamson began his career as a defense lawyer, he now pursues justice for families and individuals who have been injured due to the fault or wrongdoing of others. Mr. Williamson specializes in insurance bad faith claims, uninsured motorist claims, tractor trailer and other motor vehicle accidents, and premises liability.
During law school, Mr. Williamson received many accollades. He was elected a Member of the Paul M. Hebert Law Center-Louisiana State University Hall of Fame. He additionally was awarded the school's highest academic honor, graduating Order of the Coif. Finally, Mr. Williamson was also a Candidate of the Louisiana Law Review.
Mr. Williamson is a regular speaker to his peers at Continuing Legal Education programs. He primarily focuses on personal injury claims and insurance issues. Mr. Williamson has served the community in many volunteer activities. He is a former President of Forum 35. He is the former treasurer of the West Feliciana Parish Chamber of Commerce. He is a founder of Baton Rouge Uncorked which raises funds for numerous Baton Rouge area charities. He also is Chairman of the Baton Rouge Bar Association Athletic Committee and has formerly served as chairman of the Mock Trial Committee. Mr. Williamson additionally coaches his children's baseball and soccer teams.
