Born in 1955. Practises primarily as advisor in contract, commercial, corporate, tax, intellectual property and competition law. Many years of experience in mergers and acquisitions (both domestic and international), restructuring companies, establishing joint ventures, licence agreements and estate planning. Preferred activity is the continuous counseling of corporations and entrepreneurs in the fields of business and fiscal law.
Education: Legal studies at the University of Basel, tax studies at the Swiss Chamber of Chartered Accountants and certified Tax Experts.
Experience: Worked in the legal department of a multinational in the chemical industry (Sandoz AG, 1984 - 89) as General Counsel for the dyestuff/fine chemicals division, negotiating complex contracts, acquisitions, divestments, joint ventures. Thereafter worked as a legal and tax consultant with a leading international auditing and consulting firm (Ernst & Young AG, 1989 - 2000, partner since 1992), counseling to corporations, entrepreneurs, management and boards in business law and structural tax planning, such as drafting and negotiating agreements, acquisitions, mergers, due diligence procedures, restructuring.
Memberships: Basel Bar Association, Swiss Bar Association, International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI), International Fiscal Association.
