If a company goes bankrupt, can employees be held liable for doctor bills that were covered under the company insurance plan?

John A Moffa
Answered by attorney John A Moffa (Unclaimed Profile)
Bankruptcy lawyer at Moffa & Breuer, PLLC
All people are responsible for their medical bills. If there is insurance in effect, the insurance might cover a portion of the bills. If the insurance was canceled then the individuals are responsible.

What can we do about the second mortgage?

default-avatar
Answered by attorney Edward M Olson (Unclaimed Profile)
Bankruptcy lawyer at Olson Law Firm
It is not clear what your situation may be. For example, if the mortgage and equity line were discharged in bankruptcy, then there is nothing more you need to do. The second mortgage holder became an unsecured creditor and was entitled to the same treatment as all other unsecured creditors.
