The Arizona Bankruptcy Court has a self-help center. I recommend that you seek their help because any attorney would require more information before they can answer your questions.

What do I do with a credit card summons?

You should consult with a lawyer to determine, based on your state and your private financial information, whether 1) you are judgment proof, 2) if not, should you file bankruptcy, and 3) is there a valid defense to the debt besides inability to pay - which is 1 & 2. Best wishes to you.

Can the wife wipe out this HOA debt and settle the case with a BK filing?

Answered by attorney Kenneth Love (Unclaimed Profile)
Bankruptcy lawyer at Love and Dillenbeck Law
If you are in NC and the HOA served you with Court papers, this means they have a lien against you home and you can't wipe it out. You need to consider a Chapter 13 to pay it.
