If bankruptcy didn't reaffirm my home, can I still walk away anytime?

Answered by attorney Marjorie A. Guymon
Bankruptcy lawyer at Goldsmith & Guymon, P.C.
I suggest trying to short sell your house rather than just walking away. It could take years for the bank to foreclose and get title out of your name.

Will bankruptcy clear evictions from my rental record?

It will not. It can discharge money owed as a result of the eviction but not get rid of the eviction lawsuit from the record.

How do I get a bankruptcy off of my credit report?

Answered by attorney Joseph F. Hook (Unclaimed Profile)
Bankruptcy lawyer at Joseph F. Hook Attorney at Law
The bankruptcy will remain on your credit report for 10 years. It is a chance to rebuild your credit, not rewrite your credit. Would you have gotten the credit you now seek had you not filed chapter 7, or would you have unresolved bad debt that would be bringing your credit down.
