The auto accident debt should generally be treated as any other unsecured debt that can be discharged under Chapter 7, unless you were driving drunk at the time of the accident. There's a special provision of the bankruptcy code that prevents discharge of debt incurred because of drunk driving.

You can file Chapter 13 which will require you to make payments to your creditors for 3 - 5 years under a plan you propose and the court approves, but you won't qualify to file another Chapter 7 until 8 years after your previous case was filed (assumiing that it went well and you received a discharge).

All debts and all assets must be listed in bankruptcy. If you have not done so, you must amend your schedules accordingly. You can reaffirm a debt such as an automobile. You can also redeem it by paying the cash value in full.
