Can u file bankruptcy of u are not in rears on any of your debts

Answered by attorney Warren V. Norred
Bankruptcy lawyer at Norred Law, PLLC
Yes, but such a filing may be subject to challenge. The question is whether you can pay your bills as they come due.  These kind of questions depend a lot on local courts. I'd suggest you visit with a local bankruptcy attorney. They often will even give free consultations. Before you go, scratch our a budget of your bills, income, assets, and debts.  Good luck!

What do I do about a court summons for credit card debt?

Answered by attorney Ross Scaccia (Unclaimed Profile)
Bankruptcy lawyer at Ross Scaccia, Attorney at Law
Take the # of the case and the title and file a written answer or in your case, do nothing a judgment will be granted against you. I can't believe the credit card companies have such an influence, but then again, they lobby and they have money, most of which is garnered from outrageous interest rates, and tricky advertisements that trap many people.

Will bankruptcy clear evictions from my rental record?

Diane L Drain
Answered by attorney Diane L Drain (Unclaimed Profile)
Bankruptcy lawyer at Law Office of D. L. Drain, P.A.
I think you misunderstand what bankruptcy does. It does not clear up your credit record, it eliminates the rights of creditors to sue you for debts. Please understand that filing for bankruptcy is a very complicated process. It is wise to talk to an experienced bankruptcy attorney before deciding to take this important step.
