What happens after a Declaration of Default?

Gary A. Russell
Answered by attorney Gary A. Russell (Unclaimed Profile)
Bankruptcy lawyer at Clos, Russell & Wirth, P.C.
If a default is entered against you, then the court has determined that you do not object or deny any of the allegations set forth in the complaint and thereby admit same. Thereafter, the plaintiff can file for entry of a default judgment against you requesting the full relief requested in the complaint.

Do I have to claim workers compensation settlement in bankruptcy?

Answered by attorney Dorothy G. Bunce (Unclaimed Profile)
Bankruptcy lawyer at A Fresh Start
Bankruptcy laws require you to disclose all assets you own, and since a claim for Workers compensation benefits is an asset, you must disclose it. Fortunately, this asset is exempt under Nevada law.

How much to file for chapter 7?

default-avatar
Answered by attorney Roger J Bus (Unclaimed Profile)
Bankruptcy lawyer at Debt Relief Law Center
Bankruptcy attorneys charge a wide range of prices. Our office (same location since 1983, we have filed over 10,000 consumer bankruptcies) charges usually $400 to a maximum of $916 attorney fees. Our average fee (flat fee) is usually between $500-$600. The $306 filing fee (for a Chapter 7) can be paid in installment payments later. All our interviews are free, full and complete prices are quoted in advance at the interview. Chapter 13 repayment plans can be done with a very minimal amount paid up front.
