Will I be notified if bankruptcy is approved for another person?

As a judgment creditor, the debt should be listed in bankruptcy petition and you should be notified. You will need to file an Objection to Discharge based on the debt arising out of fraud (bouncing a check is a type of fraud) and make an appearance at your debtor's Creditor's Meeting (or "341 Meeting"). The Bankruptcy Court does not like to discharge these types of debts because it rewards debtors for dishonest behavior. You should consult a bankruptcy attorney about how to properly go about this. The Bankruptcy Court is a Federal Court and has very specific rules which must be followed for a successful outcome. You may be able to get the debtor to reaffirm the debt to you. Again, you should have a bankruptcy attorney advise you.

The interplay is actually quite complicated. I'd give info on bike. Your ex is cosigner and not co-owner right? If owner, need to exempt.
