May Cain is a highly accomplished family law attorney, and former Miami-Dade County Judge, appointed to the bench in 1990. She now focusess her practice on complex family law matters—including dissolution of marriage, domestic violence, child custody, support, paternity, pre and post nuptial agreements, and appeals.—She is a Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Law Mediator. An educator for many years, she served as an Adjunct Professor of Law at Barry University, where she created and taught its Family Law course. She also has lectured for continuing legal education programs. May Cain is a respected leader in her field, and currently serves at President of the Miami-Dade FAWL Foundation (Florida Association for Women Lawyers). She is a Past President of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers, Miami-Dade Chapter, and has served on numerous Florida Bar committees. She currently serves on the Florida Bar Journal Editorial Board, and is a past Chairperson of that Committee. Recognized as a mentor, she has made significant contributions to the legal profession and bar publications including being a guest editor of Special Additions of the Florida Bar Journal on Appellate Practice and Ethics. May earned her J.D. from DePaul University College of Law and her B.A. from Northwestern University. She attended the University of Miami School of Law as a Visiting Student, as well. She is an AV Preeminent rated attorney by Martindale-Hubbell, recognized as a Super Lawyer, and as one of South Florida’s leading family law, appellate, and litigation attorneys.
