Thorough and honest
Put on tons of junk fees and continued to call despite repeated emails asking him to follow up via email so that he could bill in .10 increments to leave voicemails. We were told a draft of a letter would cost $300-$350 and he wound up charging us close to $1200 with all the junk fees. I understand that legal costs can go up, but in this case, it was a simple letter he drafted and sent. It's absurd. I've never been so frustrated with an attorney.
I hired Stephen Moss to help me with a legal matter. By far, the worst experience I have ever had with a lawyer. I had similar billing issues someone else alluded to on AVVO in another bad rating for Mr. Moss. Like that person stated, Mr. Moss created more stress and problems for me than the original issue I hired him for. Moss overcharged for phone calls as well as to read and analyze documents. There were other things Moss overbilled for that were even worse. And, just like the other person said, I ended up paying way too much for very little in return. It was so bad I had to terminate Moss as my attorney after less than 6 months. Yet, even after acknowledging that he was terminated and I had hired a new attorney, Mr. Moss continued to attempt to bill me for "winding down" work for thousands of more dollars over several more months. If you are considering hiring Stephen Moss, I highly encourage you to do your diligent research. Check the Travis county court records at various levels
