Park Silkensen is an Austin criminal defense lawyer and Senior Trial Attorney at Michael & Associates Criminal Defense Attorneys. For nearly two decades, he has focused exclusively on defending Texans charged with DWI, assault, family violence, drug offenses, theft crimes, probation violations, intoxication assault, and other misdemeanor and felony offenses. His extensive criminal defense experience has given him a thorough understanding of Texas criminal law, criminal procedure, and courts throughout Central Texas.
Mr. Silkensen earned his undergraduate degree in journalism from the University of Texas at Austin before obtaining his Juris Doctor from St. Mary's University School of Law. During law school, he was selected to participate in the St. Mary's Criminal Defense Clinic, where he gained valuable courtroom experience representing defendants in criminal matters throughout the San Antonio area. This early exposure to criminal litigation allowed him to work directly with clients, appear in court, and develop the practical advocacy skills that continue to shape his client-focused approach to criminal defense.
After graduating from law school, Mr. Silkensen returned to Austin and established his own criminal defense practice, representing individuals accused of a wide range of misdemeanor and felony offenses. He later joined a criminal defense firm in 2015, where he spent a decade representing clients accused of serious misdemeanor and felony offenses. During that time, he handled thousands of criminal matters involving DWI offenses, assault allegations, drug crimes, intoxication offenses, and violent crimes. These experiences provided him with extensive familiarity with Texas criminal courts and the challenges individuals face when navigating the criminal justice system.
In 2025, Mr. Silkensen joined Michael & Associates Criminal Defense Attorneys, where he continues to defend clients facing criminal charges in Austin, Travis County, Williamson County, and surrounding communities. In addition to his extensive courtroom experience, he is certified by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to administer Standardized Field Sobriety Tests (SFSTs). This specialized training provides valuable technical insight into the field sobriety testing procedures frequently used in DWI investigations, allowing him to effectively evaluate and challenge intoxication-related evidence when appropriate.
Drawing on nearly twenty years of criminal defense experience, Mr. Silkensen is committed to providing strategic, personalized representation and helping clients navigate some of the most challenging situations of their lives. He works closely with each client to develop practical defense strategies aimed at protecting their rights, reputation, and future.
