Mary Escamilla is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, with a Bachelor of Arts, in English and History. She attended Baylor School of Law, where she competed in the Dawson and Sodd, P.C. Moot Court Trial Competition and was nominated to the Order of the Barristers for advocacy. She has been practicing family law since 2005 in and around the Austin, North Austin, San Marcos, and San Antonio area. She is a member of the Family Law Section of the State Bar of Texas, the Austin Young Lawyers Association, and was selected as a member of the inaugural Austin Bar Association and AYLA Leadership Academy in 2012. In 2019, she was recognized by Super Lawyers.com as a Rising Star. In 2025, she was once again nominated as a Super Lawyer. She has over a decade of trial experience in the courtroom, and regularly represents clients at contested hearings in family law court. Prior to working in Austin, she interned at the Office of the Attorney General - Child Support Division in San Antonio, Texas. She also worked as a family lawyer in Killeen, Texas, near the Fort Hood army base, where she regularly represented military clients.
