I can’t rave enough about Forest D. Cook and his staff at the Law Offices of Forest D. Cook. Mr. Cook handled my divorce, assisted me with the sale and closing on my home, and prepared my Last Will and estate planning documents. Mr. Cook is an amazing attorney! Unlike the other attorney's I consulted, Mr. Cook was willing to meet with me according to my schedule, even on the weekends and after hours. Mr. Cook and his staff were always professional and spent time to explain each phase and step of my divorce case to me.{para} Here’s a Bonus- Mr. Cook has a real gem in his office, his Staff Paralegal Amy A., you will adore working with her! Forest and Amy were always responsive and quickly returned my calls and/or e-mails. During the trial process it was a real comfort knowing Mr. Cook was on my side-he and Amy are real advocates to their clients in the courtroom!!! I knew my case was in the best hands with them! {para} The attention Mr. Cook and Amy gave to my concerns and questions surrounding my divorce case was extremely impressive. Since my case I’ve referred several friends and family members to The Law Office of Forest D. Cook, always with positive feedback. If I come upon legal issues in the future, I will definitely contact The Law Offices of Forest D. Cook!
1. A lawyer is only as good as his client.
2. You get what you pay for
3. Almost nobody retains council for "happy" things.{para}Forest, and his staff did a good job representing me throughout my legal issues. Because of his guidance, and representation the best interests of my child have been protected. The only advice I can provide applies to EVERY legal document; carefully review everything prior to signature or approval for submission.
Be careful. He is shady and looking back, I was taken for a lot of money. He will invite you to meet at various restaurants and bars to "discuss" the case only to stick you with the bill. It happened many times but I was so naive and fragile, I had no idea. He was forgetful and sloppy. He will introduce you to his "colleagues" and sure enough, you will get invoices from those colleagues for doing nothing. I really do not think he could have cared less about helping me as a client.
Forest and I made a binding verbal contract. I provided a $2,500 retainer. Forest forgot to file before the statute of Limitations. I had to call and remind him the day of cancelation. His office rushed very sloppy papers the same day. I as charged 2400 plus for at most 3-4 hours of work. I found another attorney who is representing me for Free and keep a portion of the settlement. On several occasions Forest emailed me other clients private paperwork. 100% unprofessional!!
