Beware of Modern Family Law and Kathryn Johnson. Communication was unacceptable—she blocked my calls, failed to respond to emails in a timely manner, missed or arrived late to meetings, and rarely provided updates unless I asked, despite their contract promising weekly updates. She never scheduled mediation even after I paid two retainers, did not file subpoenas or motions she said she would, and came to my temporary orders hearing unprepared without evidence or proper documentation. This left my case looking disorganized in court. Even after I hired new counsel and had no contact with her for four weeks, she invoiced me for work during that time. Modern Family Law also engages in excessive billing, charging the attorney, paralegal, and managing attorney for the same meeting. In my experience, they took my money, failed to fight for me, and left me in the dark. I strongly recommend avoiding this firm.
