Emily Yang joined Barnes Lipscomb & Stewart PLLC in 2021, focusing her practice on probate, heirship, and guardianship matters in Travis, Williamson, and surrounding counties. She handles estate administration cases, including complex dependent administrations, and regularly assists the litigation team with contested probate, guardianship, and fiduciary litigation. Emily is also appointed as an ad litem attorney in heirship and guardianship cases in Travis and Williamson counties. In addition to her probate work, Emily enjoys estate planning, particularly for young families seeking to protect their assets and secure their children's future. As a mother of two young children, she understands these concerns personally and is passionate about helping growing families ensure their children’s needs are met in any situation. Before joining the firm, Emily worked in civil litigation and family law, assisting families with divorce, child custody issues, and community property matters. She has experience with pre-marital and post-marital agreements and has volunteered with Volunteer Legal Services of Central Texas, providing pro bono assistance.
Fluent in Mandarin Chinese, Emily lives in North Austin with her husband and two children. She enjoys exploring Austin’s emerging food scene with her family on weekends.
