About Andromeda Vega Rubio

Andromeda Vega Rubio is an Austin criminal defense attorney and Senior Trial Attorney at Michael & Associates Criminal Defense Attorneys. Since being licensed in Texas in 2019, she has focused exclusively on criminal defense, representing individuals accused of DWI, assault, drug offenses, weapons charges, harassment allegations, and other serious misdemeanor and felony offenses throughout Central Texas and across the state.

During her tenure at Michael & Associates, Ms. Rubio has handled more than 475 criminal matters, making her one of the firm's most experienced active criminal defense attorneys. Her case experience includes more than 150 DWI-related matters, including first-offense DWI, repeat-offense DWI, DWI cases involving elevated blood alcohol concentration allegations, and felony DWI prosecutions. She has also represented clients facing assault family violence allegations, weapons-related offenses, marijuana possession offenses, aggravated assault accusations, harassment allegations, and other complex criminal matters. This high-volume criminal defense practice has provided her with extensive familiarity with the legal, procedural, and evidentiary issues that frequently arise in Texas criminal courts.

Before entering private practice, Ms. Rubio served with the Williamson County Attorney's Office, where she advanced to the role of trial prosecutor. Her experience on the prosecution side provided firsthand insight into how criminal cases are investigated, charged, negotiated, and litigated. She now applies that knowledge to anticipate prosecutorial strategies and develop effective defenses for her clients.

In addition to her extensive experience handling DWI matters, Ms. Rubio has worked on cases involving breath and blood testing evidence, field sobriety evaluations, and other scientific and procedural issues commonly encountered in intoxication-related prosecutions.

Known for her client-focused approach, Ms. Rubio strives to provide clear communication, personalized attention, and strategic representation in every case she handles. She understands that criminal charges can place significant stress on individuals and families, and she works closely with clients to help them understand their options and make informed decisions throughout the legal process.

As a native Spanish and German speaker, Ms. Rubio is able to communicate directly with clients in multiple languages, helping ensure that language barriers do not interfere with effective legal representation. Her multilingual background allows her to serve a diverse client base throughout Austin, Williamson County, Travis County, and surrounding communities.

Ms. Rubio earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, cum laude, from the University of Maryland in 2014 and later earned a Master of Science in Biotechnology from Johns Hopkins University. She received her Juris Doctor from Baylor Law School in 2019 and was admitted to practice law in Texas the same year.

Today, Ms. Rubio represents clients throughout Austin, Williamson County, Travis County, and Central Texas who are facing DWI, assault, drug, weapons, and other criminal charges. Drawing on her experience as a former prosecutor, her extensive criminal defense practice, and her ability to communicate across cultures and languages, she provides strategic, experience-driven representation designed to protect her clients' rights and future.
