About William M. Ordway

A graduate of Vanderbilt University and Emory University School of Law and a former U.S. Army officer, Bill Ordway is a founding partner in ORDWAY LAW GROUP, LLC. For the past 23 years, he has aggressively and compassionately represented clients in family law, divorce, custody, and support matters. He is a former instructor at the Emory Law School trial advocacy program and also has extensive experience in business litigation.
For the past several years, and again in 2017, Mr. Ordway has been named by Atlanta Magazine as a "Georgia Super Lawyer." His selection was based upon peer evaluations from other lawyers and judges throughout the state. He holds attorney rating service AVVO's highest rating of "Superb", as well as Martindale-Hubbell's highest rating of "AV-Preeminent". He was selected by Georgia Trend Magazine as a "Legal Elite".
Bill Ordway has represented several high profile clients. He and his clients have been featured on the Oprah Winfrey Show, WSB-TV and WXIA-TV in Atlanta, and WLS-TV in Chicago. He is admitted to practice before the Georgia Supreme Court, Court of Appeals, and United States District Court of the Northern District of Georgia. He is also an active member of the American, Georgia, and Atlanta Bar Associations, and of the Lawyers Club of Atlanta. He and his wife, Joy, a writer, live in Atlanta.

Hired Attorney

My review should be extreme. I will spare anyone who reads this. I contacted him for representation in a high net worth divorce, 2022. My divorce included infidelity (EVENTUAL MARRIAGE FOR 4 MONTHS BEFORE DEATH THAT BROKE MY HEART), cancer, and my own subsequent cancer diagnosis. Ordway advised me to sign documents without 2nd arbitration, he did not provide for my home Deed to withstand, which was Joint Tenancy With Right of Survivorship because he did not know current rulings, and he did not even provide for the 2.2 million dollar life insurance I should have received. I could go on. DO NOT ENGAGE HIS SERVICES.

Hired Attorney

Ordway, as well as his staff, was always nice at the beginning for a new client. But he essentially does not work hard for you while charging you tons of money. He often negotiates a very bad deal (because he is very lazy), while giving you an impression that he achieved "favorable results" for you. When he responds to your questions, the answer is always short and oftentimes misleading (but you would have a good impression because he is a smooth talker). When the other party is very tough, Ordway really do not fight for you, although he pretends he does. My divorce ended up with a very bad deal (I did not know at the time). To this date, I still have another (good) attorney to clean up his mess. Do not throw away your hard earned money for his bad services, especially when his services are deceptively adequate.
