About N. Ward Lambert

Ward Lambert focuses his law practice exclusively on counseling, advising and representing clients in the construction industry.  Over the last 30 years, Ward has advised and represented numerous regional, national and international general contractors, construction managers, design-builders, EPC contractors, owners, architectural and engineering firms and subcontractors in connection with construction projects located throughout the United States.

Frequently, Ward’s representation spans from project development through project closeout, including resolution of any project-related disputes.  In this regard, Ward regularly assists clients in the preparation, analysis and/or resolution of disputes or issues as they arise during a project. Ward regularly represents contractors, design professionals and owners in the resolution of design and construction-related disputes, whether through settlement negotiations, mediation, arbitration or litigation in trial or appellate courts.

Ward also regularly assists construction industry clients in negotiating and drafting contract documents for his clients, particularly design-build contracts, EPC contracts and CMAA or CMAR agreements. In conjunction with these efforts, Ward regularly assists and advises clients regarding insurance, bonding and similar risk allocation issues.

Ward’s practice frequently involves representation of clients in the public contracting arena, whether at the federal, state or local level. Ward is experienced and knowledgeable regarding Federal Acquisition Regulations (FARs) which routinely govern the acquisition, procurement and implementation of federal contracts.  Ward routinely handles bid protests and contract disputes before governmental administrations.

Ward earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Clemson University in Chemical Engineering in 1984.  Ward worked the construction industry as a project engineer for four years before returning to school to study law.  He earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of South Carolina of Law in 1990.  While in law school, Ward served as the Associate Justice of the Moot Court.  Starting with summer jobs in high school, Ward has always worked in and/or served the construction industry.  From working on a paving crew, to working in a cabinet shop, to working for an erector for pre-engineered metal buildings, Ward has always had a passion for all things construction-related.  Ward considers it an honor and privilege to advise, assist and be a “part of the team” for his clients in the construction arena.

Ward is a member of the South Carolina Bar, the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Ward and his wife, Denise, are both Greenville, South Carolina natives.  Ward enjoys jogging and spending time with Denise and his quirky Boykin Spaniel, Emmy.  As “empty nesters” Ward and Denise love to travel.  Ward is an avid fan of college football and of any sporting event that he can attend live.
