I was referred to this attorney in 2021 and at first I thought he was a great attorney. Subsequently, I lost my job and my chapter 13 case was dismissed. Determined to successfully file a chapter 13, I found another job and contacted this attorney again. His communication is atypical of attorneys that look like him, condescending and unprofessional at times. Why did I continue to use him? I have student loans totaling over $750k which is over the allotted amount to declare a Chapter 13 bankruptcy and he was one of the few attorneys that was up to potentially challenge my law school loans as regular debt. Plus, he had already done the work in my first case. Now, I’m inquiring about my actual debt which is only about $50k having a 5 year plan at the monthly amount was not adding up to me. It’s his fees as this isn’t my first Rodeo in Bankruptcy land. He asked for $1k retainer under duress + filing fee, now I’m fighting to have it returned. Greed doesn’t begin to describe Michael!
