Michael A. Prieto founded the nursing home wrongful death practice at Prieto, Marigliano, Holbert, & Prieto, LLC and has developed it into one of Georgia’s largest long-term care plaintiffs’ practices, recovering millions of dollars for clients. His litigation focuses on representing patients and families against assisted living, skilled nursing, acute, sub-acute, and long-term care facilities. Prieto advocates for fair compensation when wrongful acts are uncovered and works to prevent future harm to other victims through aggressive representation.
Prieto has appeared on numerous television programs, including Larry King, Oprah, Today, and Good Morning America, and has been quoted by the Los Angeles Times and other media outlets. Deeply committed to his community, he has organized pro bono clinics for the elderly across Georgia, offering legal services such as wills and powers of attorney.
In addition to his legal work, Prieto serves as County Administrator and Probate Judge pro tempore in Bartow County. A veteran of the U.S. Army JAG Corps, he is also a combat veteran of Middle Eastern conflicts. He remains actively involved with the American Association for Justice and the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, where he chairs the Nursing Home Litigation Group.
