In 2014, I needed to clear a ten-year-old warrant to secure my firearm permit, and Attorney Michael resolved it. In 2024, he guided me at the final stage of the pretrial diversion program, leading to the dismissal of charges and expungement. With over twenty years of experience in criminal law, especially in Dekalb County, his deep knowledge of the court system, background as a public defender, and extensive casework are invaluable. Attorney Michael's empathy, patience, and genuine concern for his clients set him apart. He understands the criminal justice system thoroughly and navigates its complexities effectively. His help has been pivotal in safeguarding my future, showing the significant impact of resolving legal issues. Honest communication is essential; he provides comprehensive consultations and only takes cases he believes he can genuinely help, reflecting his integrity and commitment. If you're in a difficult situation, I highly recommend Attorney Michael.
Jim Michael is simply put - the best lawyer in Georgia! I had the pleasure to be represented by Jim twice, and both times, Jim was able to not only have my case fully dismissed, but also had my arrest record restricted! Jim is extremely professional and very dedicated to get the best outcome possible for you. He was very rigorous and worked extremely hard. He was also very courteous and proceeded with such immense precision during my case that I felt at ease during a crisis. He was always one phone call/text away when my family and I were filled with stress and worries - resting us assure that we were in great hands. Jim was very thorough in explaining each and every detail regarding the charges I caught - and what would be the best way to go about it. Jim is also very well connected with numerous prosecutors and judges all over the state of GA, making him the best lawyer to negotiate and present a deal that would best suit the outcome desired. Thank you Jim!
Atty Michael was responsive, knowledgeable, and compassionate. He walked us step by step through the process. I highly recommend him.

This man saved my life! I can never thank him enough for establishing justice!!
I was fortunate to have retained Jim to represent a loved one who was extradited to Georgia on two 6 year old felony charges. Jim acted swiftly to get the bench warrant hearing on the court docket. Not only did he resolve the bench warrant, he resolved the 2 felony charges with a sentence of probation at the warrant hearing. He resolved the entire case in less than 30 days including transportation back to Georgia. This included the Christmas and New Year holidays when government is closed. He presented a very thorough and convincing presentation to the court to accomplish the probation ruling during a Friday AM court session. Our loved one was supposed to be released the same day and appear at the interstate probation office at 9:30 AM Monday. We then learned that the jail did not released our loved one on that Friday because his jail records still had warrants for 2 additional felonies. Jim tried to resolve the matter via e-mail on Sat. with no success. On Sunday, Jim went to the jail in person to the jail to resolve the matter. He also e-mailed the ADA on Sun. but the ADA did not respond. His first task on Monday. AM was to contact the ADA who then prepared a “Pre-Trial Disposition Notice”. On the notice, the ADA acknowledged that the additional warrant charges were added erroneously to the bench warrant of 6 years ago. The ADA’s notice process and slow jail release caused our loved one to miss his 9:30 AM Mon. interstate Probation appointment. Jim intervened and explained to the Interstate Probation representative that the DA’s erroneous charges did not allow our loved one to keep his Mon. AM appointment. Finally, our loved one met with the Interstate probation representative, obtained his paperwork and issued papers authorizing his travel to his home state to be reunited with his young children on Tues. Jim even followed up on Tues. to make sure the probation process in Georgia finally got completed. Jim's staff member (Gladys) even went above and beyond her normal duties by assisting us with shipment of a package of warm clothing for our loved one. Jim was professional, tenacious and thorough following up every step of the way with his own initiative. It is sad that court errors caused our loved one to be incarcerated 2 more days than required. We are grateful that Jim was able to limit the erroneous incarceration to 2 days.
