About Mr. Jeffrey L. Cohen

I have been handling tax issues with the Internal Revenue Service and Georgia Department of Revenue  since 1984.  We deal with a variety of tax controversies, and have been very successful with innocent spouse cases, audits, wage and bank levies, offers in compromise, and collection appeals.  We represent individuals and small businesses, including tax return preparers, handle sensitive audits, IRS and Department of Revenue appeals, challenge payroll tax and Trust Fund Recovery Penalty assessments, as well as cases that have to go to U.S. Tax Court and the Georgia Tax Tribunal.  Additionally, we represent small businesses and their owners in a variety of matters, such as contract review, acquisitions and sales of business, and other corporate and LLC transactions.  Lately, I have represented and advised accountants and tax return preparers who have been either audited or penalized by the Internal Revenue Service or the Georgia Department of Revenue due to negligence or mistakes in preparing tax returns for their clients.

Jeff is beyond a good lawyer. He is GREAT! I hired Jeff over 10 years ago due to back taxes caused by a nasty divorce. When it was all said and done with penalties and interest I owed the IRS a LARGE amount of money. I felt like a low life when I brought my case to Jeff. Jeff put all that to rest letting me know these things happen and we would get it worked out. Jeff worked with the IRS Agent getting the rep to offer a more than workable payment plan. Jeff's worked changed my life! Thanks Jeff!

Attorney Jeffrey Cohen is a fabulous IRS Tax Lawyer who was able to get my complex IRS matter resolved very quickly! {para}He knew exactly how to handle the matter and which of the many IRS forms should be sent to the various departments in the agency to clarify the issues. {para}I would have never been able to figure all of this out without him and the IRS certainly wasn't willing to help.... {para}If you need a tax lawyer, Jeff Cohen in Atlanta is fantastic!!

Jeff helped me get my life back to normal. I just wrapped up a five year journey with the IRS. Jeff took charged and helped me navigate a journey that was often depressing and seemed like it was never going to end. A tax situation requires someone who has the knowledge and training to deal with not only the legal implications of a tax problem but the ability to work with a government agency that you would never be able to figure out.
