About Janeen E. Smith

Janeen E. Smith is an accomplished trial lawyer who began her career on the defense side of the courtroom, representing insurance companies and corporations. She now puts that insider perspective to good use advocating for the rights of injured individuals and their families. Janeen focuses her practice on cases involving complex catastrophic injuries, defective products, and medical malpractice.

THE CASE THAT DEFINED HER CAREER

“During my experience as a defense lawyer, I ultimately realized that my skills are better used for representing the injured and families of the injured or wrongfully killed,” she says. “Now I am able to use the knowledge I gained from defending such cases to fight for full and fair results for my clients.”

A native of Fort Pierce, Florida, Janeen graduated from Florida Atlantic University before going on to earn her J.D. from Emory University School of Law. She earned the Medal for Excellence in Advocacy at the National Moot Court Competition and was named Emory University Graduating Woman of Excellence.

Prior to joining Turnbull, Holcomb & LeMoine, Janeen worked as an attorney at two prominent Atlanta defense firms, where she defended cases for insurance companies, corporations, and individual defendants. She has represented clients in a wide array of cases in state, federal, and appeals courts.

Outside the office, Janeen enjoys spending time with her family at their home in East Atlanta. She and her family are avid Atlanta United fans and attend as many home games as possible.
