Jacob R. Dean is a member of the Labor & Employment Practice in Greenberg Traurig’s Atlanta office. Jacob frequently litigates and counsels clients regarding restrictive covenants and trade secret issues. This work includes both pursuing and defending against injunctive relief on an expedited basis, as well as representing clients in resolving these issues pre-litigation. Jacob’s practice focuses on helping employers protect their most valuable assets-confidential information, client relationships, and workforce stability. He has litigated and defended high-stakes disputes involving restrictive covenants in both state and federal courts.
In addition to his litigation work, Jacob frequently works with clients to assess the enforceability of restrictive covenants under evolving state laws and to craft agreements that align with legal needs while minimizing legal risk. Jacob is a trusted advisor on nationwide restrictive covenant compliance strategies, particularly in light of increasing legislative and regulatory scrutiny. He routinely advises clients on the enforceability of restrictive covenants, develops state-specific templates, and provides executive training on lawful implementation and enforcement practices.
Finally, Jacob defends employers in litigation involving race, sex, color, disability, and age discrimination and retaliation claims. He also has significant experience defending claims brought pursuant to the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA), as well as advising clients regarding USERRA compliance.
