About Mr. Harmon W. Caldwell, Jr.

Harmon Caldwell has repeatedly been recognized as one of the finest lawyers in Georgia. Over the past 44 years, he has represented an incredible number of clients from Georgia’s wealthiest and most recognizable families in both divorce and estate and trust litigation matters. Many of his cases have received national recognition because they created a legal precedent, because of the parties involved or because of the size of the settlement or jury award. Some of those cases are noted in Harmon’s bio below. Combining a detailed knowledge of the law, a creative approach to every case, a mastery of cross-examination, and an innate ability to communicate with clients, judges and juries, Harmon and his team at Caldwell, Propst & DeLoach, LLP have the experience to achieve the best possible result for every client. Harmon strongly believes in resolving disputes on a reasonable basis. However, many times, particularly in wealthy families, the other side does not want to be reasonable. In those cases, it is important to have a fierce advocate who the opposition knows will not hesitate to try the case if it becomes necessary. Harmon has tried a staggering 200 civil jury cases, most of which have been decided in his client’s favor. Because of his reputation, Harmon is often called upon to take cases outside metro Atlanta. He has handled cases in Albany, Athens, Augusta, Barnesville, Blue Ridge, Brunswick, Carrollton, Dallas, Dalton, Fayetteville, Gainesville, Griffin, Macon, Sylvester, Tifton, Washington, Watkinsville, Waycross, and numerous other jurisdictions. Always entertaining with many stories about the cases he has tried, Harmon speaks frequently to attorneys, accountants and lay people about various aspects of his practice. His book, Harmon Caldwell’s Georgia Divorce Handbook, which describes the divorce process from beginning to end, has been the go-to guide for lawyers and non-lawyers since 2013. The majority of Harmon’s clients come from the recommendations of past clients. For the families of Martin Luther King Jr. and dozens of other notable Georgia residents, Harmon Caldwell is the go-to lawyer for divorce and estate disputes.

Hired Attorney

My mother died in 2010 and I was presented a blank Schdule D of a Trust as a Will. My mother had four properties in three states. Hired Harmon and his associate Tom Gould who gladly took almost $25,000 from me and never filed a thing in court. After working on a fire claim for over 31/2 years full time my father refused to give me a deed as he had promised for years. I my mother's only child would receive NO SHARE of any of my mother's properties. Harmon could have curtailed years of misery

Response from
We represented Tyler briefly in 2010. We tried very hard to help him. Unfortunately, he refused to follow our advice, which led us to withdraw as counsel. He employed other counsel, who we understand had difficulty with him. His statement is not accurate.

Hired Attorney

Harmon and his associate Thomas Gould helped to execute a conspiratory scheme that gave a large portion of my mother's estate to her step children. Years of misery I suffered because of this. Not one share of three properties. As you can imagine this is NOT what my mother planned. The paperwork I was handed Harmon addressed I would uncover was forged by my mother's step children under the guidance of their attorney. How come every attorney on the other side has been reprimanded for some kind of fraud or misbehavior and Harmon says I'm the guilty party. Its ashamed that none of my mother's intentions were adhered to by my father, my mother's step children and a bunch of greedy attorneys.... I told Harmon my mother had a piece of property in Florida that I was promised my entire life. Harmon told me to forget about it. So how does a woman's step children steal her estate? Hmmmm... I eventually found the Florida case Timmons vs. Ingrahm look it up and you'll have the answer.....

HC took a great deal of money from me but failed to take any meaningful action. For example, zero court action. A deplorable waste of time. The great HC ended up being a dud.... Years of misery inflicted by this attorney...
