Chris Broughton represents owners, developers, and contractors in complex transactional matters and disputes concerning the construction and development of major projects. He represents clients in mediation, arbitration, and litigation for construction disputes across industries and project types, including airports, energy facilities, hotels, industrial facilities, multi-family developments, mixed-use projects, and other traditional commercial developments. His cases often involve contractor terminations, delay claims, extra work claims, payment claims, and significant construction defects.
Chris also manages a transactional practice that includes drafting and negotiating construction and design agreements for clients across a wide array of industries, including energy, technology, manufacturing, real estate, retail, and consumer goods sectors for projects in the United States and international markets. He has drafted and negotiated agreements across all forms of project delivery and has experience with bespoke project documents and all types of industry forms. Chris also advises clients on inter-project issues and claims avoidance practices.
