Christian G. Henry is a Partner in our office in Athens, Georgia, and he focuses primarily on medical malpractice, long-term care, behavioral health care, governmental liability, and complex litigation.
With over 25 years of litigation experience, Henry has tried numerous jury trials in the superior and state courts of Georgia and dozens of non-jury trials. He has also handled over 30 appeals in the Georgia Court of Appeals, Georgia Supreme Court, and U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
His experience extends to nominations for U.S. District Court Judge for the Middle District of Georgia, Justice on the Georgia Supreme Court, Judge on the Georgia Court of Appeals, and Judge of the Superior Court for the Ocmulgee Judicial Circuit.
He has also been the County Attorney for Georgia’s Morgan County for nearly 15 years, a role equivalent to being general counsel for a 200-person enterprise that includes advising county commissioners and staff on all matters of county business, rules, and regulations.
An active member of the State Bar of Georgia, Christian is the President of the Local Government section, and he has served as president of the County Attorneys section of the Association of County Commissioners of Georgia. He is also a member of the Georgia Municipal Association.
Christian holds a Juris Doctor from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Georgia.
While in law school, he was a member of the Cumberland Law Review and a Scholar of Merit for Contracts II. He also taught legal research and writing to first-year law students as a Cordell Hull Teaching Fellow.
Henry lives in Oconee County, Georgia, with his wife and two children.
