If these benefits are SSI disability benefits, then assets, resources and income can affect one's disability payments if the disabled person marries.  If your girlfriend's benefits are not from SSI (Supplemental Security Income), marriage should have no impact.  She should call her local hearing office to determine which program pays her.  If it's both, she could lose the SSI depending on the household assets, resources and income, partially or completely.  Follow this link to get the phone number and location for her SSA office
