Previously living in New Orleans, Boone also worked at firms there where he was responsible for handling flood insurance claims, Jones Act, and maritime insurance defense cases.

Boone earned his Juris Doctor from Louisiana State University, where he was a member of the Louisiana Law Review. He earned his Bachelor of Science, magna cum laude, in Environmental Geoscience from Texas A&M University.
