John "JP" Wood specializes in representing clients before the Regulatory Commission of Alaska, where he served as the agency's Chief Administrative Law Judge from 2009 through 2018. JP uses his experience presiding over complex public utility regulatory matters involving natural gas distribution, natural gas storage, telecommunications, and electrical service under the Alaska Public Utilities Regulatory Act, as well as pipeline regulatory matters under the Pipeline Act, to effectively advocate for his clients.
A lifelong Alaskan, JP attended Chugiak High School and received his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Alaska, Anchorage. JP was a law clerk for the Alaska District Court, 3rd Judicial District from 2002-2003, then worked at local law firms engaged in civil litigation practice before joining the RCA as an Administrative Law Judge in 2006.
