About Tyler Duane Parchem

Legal problems involving your home or your livelihood can feel overwhelming. Whether your rent was increased, your home becomes uninhabitable, or you were displaced by your landlord, attorney Tyler Parchem understands what is at stake. He combines extensive courtroom experience with a practical, compassionate approach that helps clients understand their options, protect their rights, and move forward with confidence.

As an Associate Attorney at North City Law, PC, Tyler focuses primarily on landlord-tenant litigation, representing tenants in unlawful removal, security deposit disputes, habitability claims, rent increases, and other housing-related matters.

Tyler earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Colorado Law School, where he was awarded both the Bryan Shaha Criminal Defense Scholarship and the William C. McClearn Public Interest Scholarship. He also fulfilled and exceeded the law school’s Public Interest Pledge through extensive public service work. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science (Pre-Law), with a minor in Criminal Justice, from Washington State University.

Licensed to practice in both Washington and Colorado, Tyler built his courtroom experience representing individuals during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. Before joining North City Law, he worked as a Deputy Public Defender in Jefferson County, Colorado, where he handled jury trials, suppression hearings, motions practice, and appeals. He later worked as a Staff Attorney with the Community Economic Defense Project in Denver, representing low-income tenants facing eviction and other housing disputes. These roles provided him with substantial litigation experience while reinforcing his commitment to ensuring that every client receives tenacious legal representation, regardless of their circumstances.

Tyler’s interest in housing law grew naturally from his work as a public defender. He witnessed firsthand how intimidating and confusing the legal system can be for individuals without financial resources or prior experience with the courts. That perspective continues to shape his practice today. He is particularly passionate about advocating for tenants and families who often find themselves navigating complex legal issues.

Clients appreciate Tyler’s thoughtful and analytical approach to every case. He enjoys digging into the facts, identifying creative legal arguments, and developing practical strategies that fit each client’s unique circumstances. Whether negotiating a favorable resolution or presenting a case before a judge or jury, he remains focused on achieving meaningful results while keeping clients informed throughout the process.

One of the most rewarding aspects of Tyler’s practice is helping clients recover the money, housing stability, and peace of mind they lost because of unlawful conduct. While successful jury verdicts are especially memorable, he finds equal satisfaction in helping clients resolve disputes before they escalate and giving them the confidence to move forward.

Outside the office, Tyler enjoys reading, exploring the Seattle neighborhoods of Ballard and Fremont with his wife, discovering new restaurants, staying active through running and walking, and cheering on the Mariners and Seahawks.

If you are dealing with a housing issue or a landlord-tenant dispute, Tyler is ready to listen, explain your legal options, and provide the experienced advocacy you need to protect your future.
