Jan Herfkens is a senior associate in the Amsterdam office of Greenberg Traurig, with a focus on administrative law, environmental law and energy-related matters. Jan has significant experience in advising clients on nature conservation related aspects and enforcement matters. In addition, he regularly works on complex energy issues, including grid congestion, the development of alternative energy solutions (for instance cable pooling), and navigating energy regulatory frameworks. Jan represents clients in administrative court proceedings, but also drafts and negotiates contracts and supports transactional work.
Currently, Jan is member admitted to the Amsterdam Bar and a member of the associations for administrative law (VAR) and energy law (NeVER). Before joining Greenberg Traurig in October 2019, Jan worked as a student-assistant and served as a lecturer on “Techniques and Methods of Jurisprudence” at Leiden University.
