About Gerald A. Schwartz

Gerald Schwartz is a Virginia personal injury and wrongful death lawyer with his main office in Alexandria and client meeting locations in Woodbridge, Manassas and Fredericksburg. His passion is making a difference in his clients’ lives. To Gerald Schwartz, “knowledge is power” and the key to winning. He works hard to learn everything about a client’s case to fight for justice and hold the wrongdoer responsible. Gerald Schwartz fights tirelessly for maximizing recovery in every case. According to Schwartz, “only then does a client receive justice.” Schwartz is a lifetime member of the “Million Dollar Advocates Forum, the Top Lawyers in America.”

Gerald A. Schwartz graduated from the American University Washington College of Law in Washington, D.C. In addition, he has a medical background as an honors graduate of Northeastern College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Professions in Boston, MA.

Mr. Schwartz is a former registered pharmacist who practiced at a nationally recognized medical center and in community pharmacy, advising doctors and patients about prescription medications. This medical training that Schwartz received as a pharmacist allows him to recognize the full extent of a client’s major injuries and extensive medical tests and treatment in an effort to obtain the highest injury settlement. Since 1975, Gerald A. Schwartz has devoted his practice to helping people fight for justice - a passion he developed in law school. In 2006, he was elected President of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association.

Gerald Schwartz has been named to Virginia Super Lawyers every year since 2007 and to Washington, D.C. Super Lawyers since 2008. Each year, only 5% of lawyers are listed in Super Lawyers. The National Trial Lawyers Association named Gerald A. Schwartz one of the “Top 100 Trial Lawyers in Virginia.” In 2019, Mr. Schwartz has been honored to be awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association.

Gerald Schwartz is often asked to train lawyers on how to win Virginia personal injury cases. Mr. Schwartz has instructed practicing lawyers how to be better trial lawyers as a faculty member of the Virginia College of Trial Advocacy. Schwartz has also taught new lawyers how to handle personal injury cases at the Virginia State Bar’s “First Day in Practice Seminar” for new lawyers. In 2007, Schwartz was recognized as a “master advocate” and was asked to present the “One Man” Virginia Trial Lawyers Association’s “Master of Advocacy” full day seminar in Richmond, Norfolk, Roanoke and Fairfax, Virginia.

Gerald Schwartz is passionate about helping his clients rebuild their lives after a traumatic injury. His commitment to community service is carried out through pro bono representation, too. Schwartz was recognized by the American Association for Justice and United States Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer for his pro bono work representing victims of the September 11th attack on the Pentagon. Schwartz says, “I will never forget my client’s thank-you note which said, ‘You were there when I needed help the most - you are my hero.’”
