I paid Hickman $5000.00 for representation. He didn't meet with his client; failed to call and return phone calls. He convinced client to plead guilty citing he could get him out on appeal. Client refused but believed his lawyer and went down the drain. Client served his time awaiting an appeal that NEVER happened! I contacted Louisiana Ethics Board. Elizabeth Middleton- Alexandria, LA handled my complaint; she ruled in his favor despite my SOLID EVIDENCE! He had NOTHING! Ethics Board - please!
Paid up Front to file wrongful death suit and to Anull a judgement of possession. He filed petition for anullment and had it served could have had it anulled because an answer wasn't filed in time he refused to go and file default judgement and allowed opposing council to file for default judgement instead. Never had wrongful death suit served. Basically paid for nothing gave him opportunity to redeem himself. He never even bothered returning my call.
Mr . Hickman does not communicate with his clients & he does not follow through with appeals . He takes money & writes no receipts . He tells you that he will mail it & you never receive it .He shows very poor leadership & he's very unprofessional.Never returns phone calls & he doesn't keep Lawyer, Client confidentiality ! He tells his Clients to take guilty pleads for short sentences but when they take the pleads, they get long sentences .
