About Zackeree S. Kelin

Career Overview:

Zackeree Sean Kelin is a member of the Caddo Nation of Oklahoma and a founding partner at the Davis Kelin Law Firm. His work focuses on medical malpractice, catastrophic injuries, civil rights, insurance bad faith, Indian law, and other complex litigation. He started his career at DNA-People’s Legal Services, Inc. (“DNA”), the oldest and largest poverty law program in Indian Country, where he represented indigent clients, tribes and non-profits before tribal, state, and federal courts and various administrative and legislative bodies in the areas of poverty law, Indian law, sacred sites protection, and environmental law.

Background:

While in law school at the University of Iowa, Zackeree clerked for the Native American Rights Fund and the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska. He is graduate of the Gerry Spence’s Trial Lawyers College, a member of the American Association for Justice Leaders Forum, and serves on University of Iowa Alumni Leadership Council and the Board of Directors for Native American Disability Law Center, the New Mexico Trial Lawyers Association, and the Caddo Nation Economic Development Authority.

Zackeree was also appointed as a Commissioner on the New Civil Rights Commission, which lead to the passage of the New Mexico Civil Rights Act and is currently serving as special prosecutor in New Mexico’s Second Judicial District. His body of work includes obtaining published opinions in the areas of tort law, New Mexico’s Inspection of Public Records Act, and Indian law, and recovering over $100,000,000 in successful settlements and verdicts, including some of the largest in the State.
