Salim Khayoumi, born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico, has cultivated a distinguished legal career. A graduate of La Cueva High School, he earned his bachelor’s degree in Sociology, with honors, from the University of New Mexico in 2005, and proceeded to secure his Juris Doctor from Washburn University School of Law in 2008. Salim began his legal career as a prosecutor in New Mexico’s Fifth and Second Judicial District Attorney’s Offices, tackling cases from DWIs to serious felonies. Transitioning to civil litigation, he committed to advocacy and representation of victims of wrongful conduct, medical malpractice, and personal injuries.
Currently at Buchanan Law, Salim leverages over 15 years of diverse legal experience, having achieved a significant $24 million verdict as part of a plaintiff trial team in 2023. His commitment to justice is recognized through accolades like the Top 100 Trial Lawyer title and Super Lawyer Rising Star. Salim actively participates as a member of the New Mexico Bar Association and other esteemed legal organizations. Outside his professional life, Salim enjoys quality time with his son, engaging in outdoor pursuits such as running, skiing, and traveling.
