An IRS audit of my 2019 return began in June 2022 and expanded to include tax year 2020 as well. I am a tax preparer and initially chose an Enrolled Agent I know to represent me. But as the audit expanded, the EA felt that I would be better represented by an attorney. I was impressed by Mr. Talwar's research into the tax law and regulations behind the audit, and his dogged but patient efforts in navigating my case for almost 18 months through two IRS revenue agents and an appeal. He also effectively communicated with the Taxpayer Advocate Service. Mr. Talwar successfully appealed the deficiency notice to the IRS Office of Appeals. The entire amount due (over $40,000 including interest and penalties), was overturned by the Appeals Officer based on precedence cited by Mr. Talwar. The successful outcome of this case was entirely due to Manny Talwar's efforts.
