Please do not be fooled. Brian Shoemaker is smart and very good at comforting you during such a difficult time. He is far from a smart, good lawyer. If I didn't have to hire another attorney after he dropped my case (due to his own negligence and misunderstanding of the law) the Friday before a trial on Monday I things may have ended up even worse. I paid him 10's of thousands of dollars only to pay another attorney even more to correct all of his mistakes. He is a very bad attorney.
Calls and emails were not returned. He would promise reports and summaries to us and to consulting attorneys that were never done. The mediation sessions were confusing and unproductive. Requests for clarification by phone and email were never responded to. He hasn't even given us a statement which he said he was going to do three weeks ago. We basically flushed $3500 down the toilet and I will be retaining an attorney to proceed with the divorce.
I was divorcing a multi-millionaire.! He did not have my back as hundreds of thousands of dollars were funneled into other accounts. To date, basically all the money I rec'd $47,000 went directly to Brian Shoemaker. He did not do anything...our case never even went to trial.
Two years later, I have zero money to raise my daughter but Brian has $47,000 for nothing. I have nothing to show for seven years being married to a rich man.
Stay away from this guy, he does not have your back.
