About James D. Hannagan

Although J.D. Hannagan primarily represents clients in the areas of ad valorem tax, employment law, and business litigation, his experience in these areas has opened his practice to a broad range of legal disputes, including condemnation matters, breach of contract claims, landlord/tenant disputes, and consumer actions brought under the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act.

He strives to produce the best outcome for his clients in the most efficient manner possible. Sometimes the best outcome requires negotiation and alternative dispute resolution. At other times, aggressive litigation is the only solution. Whether by negotiation or litigation, Mr. Hannagan works tirelessly to solve clients’ legal challenges and gain the outcomes they desire.

For his work on complex cases on behalf of his clients, he was named to the list of Texas Super Lawyer Rising Stars from 2014 to 2019. This list includes approximately 2.5 percent of the most outstanding lawyers in Texas under age 40 or with less than 10 years of experience in the law. One of the steps to selection is to be recommended by one of the more senior lawyers, the Texas Super Lawyers.
