About Kirk J. Angel

Kirk J. Angel is the founder of The Angel Law Firm, PLLC and a highly experienced employment lawyer. A native of Western North Carolina, Mr. Angel earned his BA in Philosophy from the University of North Carolina at Asheville and went on to receive both his Master’s in Philosophy and Juris Doctorate from the University of Tennessee. Mr. Angel began his legal career in Knoxville, Tennessee, working with a small firm focused on employment law, personal injury, and workers’ compensation. He later returned to North Carolina to serve as a Trial Attorney with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) in the Charlotte District Office, where he litigated and investigated employment matters across the Carolinas. Since founding The Angel Law Firm, PLLC in 2005, Mr. Angel has concentrated his practice on employment law, representing both employees and local businesses. Kirk Angel is an excellent and highly professional attorney. He is quick to respond to inquiries, outstanding with employment law, and very good at identifying the strategy that will best meet the client’s needs. Kirk’s knowledge of the ADA and the FMLA is extensive, and he brings a level of expertise that has been honed by his years of experience in working with the EEOC. He is a 10 out 10, outstanding, and completely trustworthy. I wholeheartedly recommend him.

Mr. Angel was very easy to work with, always putting my needs first. His staff was able to meet with me when it was convenient for me and put in a lot of weekend hours. Mr. Angel was extremely knowledgeable about the laws pertaining to my particular case, which resulted in a settlement. I would highly recommend Mr. Angel for his professionalism, knowledge and as an added bonus, his affordability.

My daughter was twice denied NCESC benefits through phone hearings. Thanks to you and your staff she went through both with calm assurance. Through your tenacity and legal skill, the NCESC sided with my daughter,overturned the decision and awarded her the unemployment benefits she was due. Had she not contacted you,she would have become another statistic of denied benefits. Although she received several solicitations for legal assistance,she chose The Angel Law Firm because of you and your staff

I was fired from my job in December, 2010, and had to have a hearing before the Employment Security Commission to get my unemployment benefits which my employer had contested. I was scared to death! Kirk Angel was my guardian angel. He settled me down, knew exactly what he was doing and went with me to my hearing, which we won! He was professional, knowledgeable and a really nice person. I would highly recommend him to anyone and will use him again myself in the future.

I hired Mr Angel the first time in 2009, I have now used him for three different issues and been pleased on his work on all three. With my former employer, I had worked with many attorney's and I know how most operate. Mr Angel is by far the best attorney that I have ever worked with. He is very professional, intelligent, quick witted, very personable, reliable, and he certainly knows his stuff! I have already recommended him several times to others and will continue to do so! He's the best!

I sought help after I was wrongfully denied unemployment benefits. They aggressively defended my position through two appeal hearings. Mr. Angel stood up to a large corporation and their outside attorney. Ultimately the original decision was overturned and I received my benefits. Had it not been for Mr. Angel I feel I would have been left with no benefits. One can find a larger law firm but one will not receive as much time and personal attention.
