About Meriwether & Tharp, LLC

Experienced Divorce Lawyers Throughout Georgia

At Meriwether & Tharp, we've spent more than 20 years helping people through some of the most difficult times in their life. That's our specialty. We know that obtaining a divorce can be a difficult process. Not only do you have to navigate the legal complications surrounding equitable division, child support, alimony, and child custody, but you also have to deal with the emotional toll a divorce places on you and your family. Many of you have to manage this legal and emotional burden while continuing to maintain jobs, pay bills, taxi children to their extra-curricular activities, assist with homework, etc. That is why we decided to focus our entire practice on this one area of law. That is why we are here for you. We take care of your divorce. You take care of your life.

At Meriwether & Tharp one of our core values is education. We focus extensively on internal training and education for our divorce lawyers to keep them sharp on the latest best practices. Externally, we focus heavily on providing free resources to educate our clients so they can make the best possible decisions in their divorce and achieve their goals. Further, our divorce lawyers are resolution focused. Rather than focusing on upping the legal fees through incessant fighting and litigating, we focus on quickly finding the best resolution that also meets your goals for the divorce.

Hired Attorney Ms. Charlotte Ruble

Charlotte is extremely knowledgeable, honest, strong, gives great attention to detail; and, is a true advocate for her clients. She represented me in my divorce and child custody; and, I personally couldn't be more pleased. The level of interest and sincerity that was put forth by Charlotte, along with her team Paralegal Andrea Palmer and law clk Lilly & Lauren, was refreshing and encouraging. She made me feel confident in what the outcome could be with her brutal honesty and friendly direction.

Hired Attorney Ms. Charlotte Ruble

Great attorney. Great attention to detail. Charlotte knows when to engage in an adversarial posture with opposing counsel and when to employ a carrot and stick approach.

Hired Attorney Mr. Robert Tharp

From the outset, Mr. Tharpe was there for me, both personally, professionally, and emotionally. Easy to speak to, yet extremely intelligent and dynamic, he is an out of the box thinker in the most difficult of times. He not only fought for what was right, but he fought for what was fair; for myself, and my children. I can never thank him enough for his time, energy, and worth ethic. Simply stated, if you are contemplating hiring a family law/divorce attorney, Bob should be your first call.

Hired Attorney Mr. David Beaudry

Great attorney who took over to try to settle my case as the previous attorney could not. David quickly got up to speed with all the details and did an outstanding job in court. I would highly recommend this attorney. He is very fair, upfront and extremely knowledgeable. I only wish I had him from the very beginning of a long, drawn out stressful divorce case. I feel quite certain the outcome would have been different.

Hired Attorney Mr. David Beaudry

David is one of the best out there, I had spoken with a few other lawyers before deciding to engage David. He made me feel at ease while divorce is anything but.....he kept me well informed throughout the process and made sure the case progressed as quickly as it possibly could. I would HIGHLY recommend David

Leh was lead counsel on my case. He mobilized his team to achieve very aggressive time lines in my case. In order to do this, everything had to be correct the first time. He and his team (Charlotte and Amy in particular) communicated well, followed up assertively and directed proceeding in a competent, well directed manner. I am a demanding person and I was very impressed from the get-go. No-one wants to go through a divorce but if you do, I wish an attorney like on your side.

Hired Attorney Mr. Robert Tharp

Attorney Bob Tharp helped me through a very difficult case to say the least. I was unable to retain a lawyer during my actual divorce, but two years later was referred to Bob by a friend and he recommended filing for a modification. Upon first review, my case appeared to be a lost cause, but because of his years of experience and vast knowledge of divorce law and the process, he was able to win my case and put me in a much more favorable situation. Bob is by far the most approachable attorney
