Claire represented me in my child support modification case & was outstanding. Her & her asst Sherry were always quick to get back to me which was difficult since I was living overseas. She gave me HONEST & accurate legal advice & was EXTREMELY prepared for court. Every case is different, but Claire definitely does her best to represent you. In my situation, the judge awarded me a large increase in child support, back dated the arrears to date he was served & ordered him to pay my lawyers fees.
Claire and her staff did an excellent job in handling my divorce.
I felt like they were truly looking out for my best interest. I was so ready for the whole mess to be over with, that I was prepared to just walk away with nothing. Claire and her staff helped me realize that I was entitled to what was rightfully mine, and helped me develop a settlement of assets that was fair to both me and my ex
Claire agreed to taking on my case despite never meeting me, was understanding about my financial abilities, and helped me fight through what she called the "worst divorce she had seen in ten years of practicing family law." She is not as responsive as I would have liked, but that makes sense for someone as in demand as her. She had multiple clients that all likely got the same good service and representation that I did. I still go to Claire for my legal needs, and would recommend her to anyone.
He has no experience for criminal trial however on paper and settlements he does a great job.
Once our retainer was paid in full he Sam did the bare minimum. I choose this firm bc they are more affordable than other firms but only because they are willing to say what you need to hear to get the retainer without keeping their word. He abandoned my husband in the middle of his case. The worst part is the false hope he gave us. Making it seem like he could put an end to a complicated and unfair case we have been dealing with for years. Instead he took our money and left him in worse shape than when we started. He knew this wasn’t a cut and dry case from the start. He was confident he could put an end to this nightmare we have endured for years but instead jumped ship. Would give more details on the case but you can’t leave a lengthy review on here. I also have a hard time believing some of these 5 star reviews are from clients. Read other one star reviews on google. It is tragic the way this firm has treated clients especially regarding family law. They don’t deserve one star.
WARNING! DO NOT HIRE THIS ATTORENY UNTIL YOU READ HER CONTRACT FOR SERVICES VERY CAREFULLY AND UNTIL YOU READ REVIEWS ON AVVO FOR MORE INFORMATION.
See specifics in recent Google review by Tim Adams and others she wronged! Very unethical. Legal action against her shall commence unless she begins to act ethically and morally. Her actions are a disgrace to the legal profession.
I would not recommend Clair Mehaffey to anyone. I hired her to get full custody
of my daughter because she was being sexually molested by the her maternal uncle.
When my wife and I sat down with Claire and explained the situation, she said
that this was going to be an open and close case and she could get a temporary
custody order signed as soon as she got her retainer fee of $3500.00. For my
daughter's protection, we managed to pay her in full and she said the documents
were ready to be sign by the judge.I was fortunate of the timing because according
to Claire's assistant, Claire got the judge to sign the temporary order while my
daughter was still in my custody so the law firm advised me there was no need to
return her to her mother. Little did I know, the judge didn't sign the paper until
the next day and I was convinced to go against my current court orders.
I attended the first court hearing and Claire came in 5 minutes before the
court time unprepared. Unfortunately, the judge denied the motion to keep my
daughter because of the previous events leading up to not giving her back.
After Claire recieved her retainer fee, she left me in the dark and never
communicated with me. When I would call her, I gave her assistant a callback
message and my call was never returned. The day before the final hearing, I
got an unexpected call from Claire's assistant to come to the office and sign
some papers for court. Claire was not in the office, so the assistant went
over the paperwork I signed and told me I needed to bring my Tax returns to
court the next day. The next day, Claire showed up 2 minutes before we were
required to start and asked me if I still wanted full custody or if I was willing to
go back to the original court orders. I thought it was odd for her to ask that
seeing as I originally hired her to get full custody
