|Additional Bio Details||Mona L. Bentz is the founder of the Bentz Law Firm. She received her B.A. from the University of Iowa with high distinction in 1991, after which she spent one year working and studying at the Wolfgang Goethe Universität in Frankfurt, Germany to complete an International Business Certificate. Ms.Bentz earned her law degree (J.D.) from the University of Iowa College of Law with distinction in 1995. She served as a Note and Comment Editor for the Journal of Corporation Law from 1994-1995 and published her article, “The Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993: A Comparative Analysis with Germany,” in that journal in 1995. |
Following her graduation from law school, Ms. Bentz clerked for the Honorable John A. Jarvey in the United States District Court, Northern District of Iowa. Thereafter, Ms. Bentz worked in Seattle and Chicago, where she practiced primarily in the area of employee benefits.
She joined Iden Law Offices in 2007 and founded the Bentz Law Firm in 2009. Her practice focuses on life and estate planning for families, international clients, and small business owners, as well as immigration law. Ms. Bentz is particularly passionate about educating women on life and estate planning issues. Ms. Bentz is admitted to practice in Florida and Illinois, and she has elected inactive status in her Iowa and Washington state bar memberships.
In addition to her law practice and raising her young children, Ms. Bentz is actively committed to her volunteer work in microfinance (with the Grameen Foundation) and the arts (with the Weston Philharmonic Society). Ms. Bentz was born and raised in Iowa. She currently resides in Weston, Florida.
