Ward Harper
Firm Overview

I established this firm in January 1994. Over 99% of my cases have been Social Security disability or SSI cases. Most of my work is before the Administrative Law Judges.  At this level, my record for the most recent years is as follows:
2001: 109 wins, 4 losses (3 won, 1 lost on appeal);
2002: 93 wins, 3 losses (2 appeals won, one client withdrew);
2003: 86 wins: 3 losses (all 3 won on appeal);
2004: 91 wins, 7 losses (6 won, 1 lost on appeal);
2005: 118 wins, 3 losses (1 won, 2 still on appeal);
2006: 96 wins, 6 losses (2 won, 1 lost, 3 still on appeal);
2007 through June:  55 wins, 2 losses (both on appeal).

All the cases where the Administrative Law Judge ruled against us were appealed, except for one client who terminated representation.  Only two were not reversed by either the Appeals Council or a federal court.  Thus, from January 2001 through December 2006 we had 648 wins and 3 losses in cases where I represented the person before the Administrative Law Judge.  I also took a case where the person was not represented before the Administrative Law Judge and took it all the way to the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals at no charge, where we lost.  My other 23 federal court cases were successful.

There is no charge to evaluate your case. There is no fee unless we win. Just call my office. My paralegal, Jody, will get the basic information about your case and I will personally evaluate it.  I will be the person who actually represents you at your hearing, not a junior partner. We will meet prior to your hearing to go over your case so that you are assured of having the best representation possible.

Prior to starting this firm, from 1991 to 1994, I was an attorney for the Social Security Administrative Law Judges who presided over all cases in Utah. These judges are located in Salt Lake City.

Prior to working for the judges, from 1988 to 1991, I was the attorney in charge of Social Security litigation for the Salt Lake City office of Utah Legal Services. I started working in Social Security law in 1984 as a law clerk at Utah Legal Services.
